Our Sustainability Goals
Our primary objectives center on achieving best-practice in environmental and social sustainability. To accomplish these goals, we’ve partnered with EarthCheck—the world’s leading scientific, economic, environmental, and social benchmarking certification. The rigorous requirements of EarthCheck’s science-backed certification programs highlights SCP Hotels’ commitment to sustainability. We’re proud to announce that Salishan Coastal Lodge has achieved Bronze status.
Our actions also align with several of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
How We Deliver Sustainability Results
Every Stay Does Good: Our commitment to being a purpose-driven company starts with our guests. Every stay at our hotels contributes to unique ways of making a positive impact in our communities and for our planet. These initiatives include providing adolescents with well-being tools and resources (We Well-being), lighting the homes of families caring for critically ill children (Miracles for Kids), and planting trees in unnaturally deforested areas (One Tree Planted).
On Property Every Day: We take sustainable actions daily, such as harnessing solar energy, implementing comprehensive recycling and composting programs, and eliminating single-use plastics (including no plastic water bottles, straws, bags, or plasticware). All of these efforts are aimed at reducing our environmental footprint and promoting eco-friendly practices.
Locally Sourced: We proudly champion our communities, deeply valuing the talent and richness they offer. By locally sourcing foods for our restaurants, supplies for our hotels, and services for our guests, we not only support our neighbors but ensure an authentic local experience for those who stay with us.
